Our day trip this year was organised by Marilyn H and Jenny, and took place on 24th July.
28 members boarded the coach at 9:00a.m. Our driver, Kevin, from Regency Coaches, drove us the scenic route to Knights Garden Centre near Godstone for a coffee stop, with time to browse, plants for sale and a wonderful display of orchids.
Boarding the coach again we were on our way to Great Comp near Sevenoaks in Kent. The Gardens are home to the Dyson salvia collection, with a 17th century manor house and seven acres of gardens, which were a delight to wander through. There were many colourful flower borders, exotic plants and majestic trees.
Then time for tea, many members enjoyed a cream tea sitting in the garden in bright sunshine discussing the day with U3A friends. We alkl agreed it had been a greta day out, thanks to Marilyn and Jenny.
